Well here in the UK we are in a National Lockdown again. During the first one back in the summer I tried my hand at some “Light Painting”. I was keen to use my Fujifilm GFX camera and light painting, using a torch in a blacked out room, a technique that had intrigued me for a long time.
So, having time on my hands I started to clear out my office/studio. This is a chore that I have been putting off for longer than I can remember! Over the years I have gathered so much “stuff” in a room 20 feet by 10 feet and a clear out is long overdue. I stumbled across this old Bolex Camera and a Bell and Howell Projector Combination. They were acquired many years ago at a camera club sale. I have never attempted to use the camera but the projector did get used to project several reels of Super 8 shot with a Canon 1014XL camera I used to own. A wonderful camera in it’s day.
Something else I rediscovered was a small Lastolite light tent/cube which I bought years ago when a friend asked me to photograph a series of marine pumps for his engineering company brochure. A couple of years back I also bought an LED continuous light panel and after setting this up to the left of the cube, I shot the camera and projector. These two images are the final results after some minor tinkering in Photoshop.
