A Tewinbury Farm Wedding

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

A special New Years Eve Tewinbury Farm Wedding! The day started in Knebworth at 4 Hair. This the hair salon where bride Stephanie’s older sister Lynsey works. Lynsey was maid of honour and her children all played a part in the wedding too. After oldest daughter Aimee had her make-up finishing touches, I took a quick portrait of her with little sister Masie.  Then it was Lily Mae’s turn as she sat with Heather, long time friend of Steph’s and next door neighbour for many years.

Back at home father Keith was adjusting his cuff links and all eight bridesmaids arrived from the hair salon to get dressed for the day ahead.

The Wellington pub in Welwyn is conveniently situated right opposite St Mary’s church. Here I found groom Stuart with is best man Lyndon. Over at the church gates I caught a picture of Lynsey’s husband Steve together with usher Ollie and little brother Max who appeared to be enjoying himself.

Stephanie was only a few minutes late and here you can see videographer John De Rienzo in action – get out of the shot John!

I think there were a few tears during the ceremony which was performed by The Rev’d Dr David Munchin. A great guy with a very good sense of humour.

After the confetti and some mulled wine for the congregation it was off to the venue for the remainder of this New Tears Eve Tewinbury Farm wedding!

After a few formal shots we took Steph and Stu off for some photos around Tewinbury. Steph and Stu had arranged for a drone to take some ariel shots at the church and the venue as well. Look forward to seeing those when they are ready.

Then into the reception itself which was held in the Thythe Barn at Tewingbury. Best Men Lyndon and Dan were busy mulling over their speeches and making a few last minute changes before the bride and groom made their entrance.

Dan still worrying over his speech ….

Something quite new to me is the idea of filming everyone in a “Mannequin Challenge”. Everyone holds a pose and someone films the whole thing. Great idea and they pulled it off brilliantly! You can see the end result here. It has had nearly 10K views on Facebook to date!

The speeches went really well and I was impressed with Stuart’s speech and also his best men, Dan Lyndon and Pete.

And so to the party – and what a party it was – right through into 2017. The dance floor was always full. Young Ollie and Charlie had a spell in the DJ chair as did bride Steph as well. I shot some video footage which I have handed over to videographer John. I know he will work his magic on it. Here is a very brief clip to round things off – the countdown to midnight 2016!
