Fanhams Hall always looks great whatever the time of year. Winter weddings, especially at Christmas time have a special magic about them. As Cat and Lee’s Fanhams Hall winter wedding photographer I was delighted to photograph their day which started very locally to me in Knebworth. Strangely enough it was the first time that I had photographed at St Thomas Moore Roman Catholic Church.
First stop of the day was Catherine’s parents house where the girls were busy with hair and makeup. Then the Lytton Arms, a very well known local Knebworth public House, to catch up with the boys who were enjoying a drink with some of the wedding party.
The Rev Canon Daniel Cronin was suffering from a touch of laryngitis but this did not stop him performing the marriage ceremony and Catherine and Lee were duly married. We then set off for Fanhams Hall arriving just as the heavens opened and the rain set in for the rest of the day. Given the weather conditions we decided to stay indoors for the group photographs and I arranged Catherine on a window sill to show off her beautiful dress and veil whilst we waited for the wedding party to arrive. Then a few big group photographs from the minstrel’s gallery in the great hall before the reception started. The evening kicked off to a great start with a very lively, professional wedding band The Bears who I have seen before at wedding receptions and they always do a great job.
